COVID Blues

Ok. First Post. My Top 10 Tips for Isolation.

This may seem a bit blasé - but honestly it works.

First SLEEP.

Sleep is like, number one on the list, but don't just stay in bed all day. It gives you a legitimate excuse to sleep in as long as you want, while keeping you healthy for the recovery period after covid.

Secondly, STAYING HYDRATED is super-dooper important. Add a hydrolyte or electrolyte to your drink to keep your body hydrated. The more you drink though, the more you need to pee, so make sure you don't drink too much.

Third, in my case, if the rest of your family doesn't have it - make sure that you DISINFECT everything you touch that is outside your bedroom. It makes sure that no one else is in risk of getting anything, and also it makes the house smells nice.

Next, EAT WHATEVER YOU WANT! Because, you should definitely treat yourself if you feel terrible. Eat Cookies, chocolate, cake, soup and Cheese Toasties, and get pizza delivered. Try to eat some healthy food, though, because you can't exactly "work off" too many calories in iso.

Wear your PJs all day! Because, no one is going to see you, and they are more comfortable than actually putting on clothes.

Go OUTSIDE. When there is no one else around, obviously. And enjoy the fresh air - because it's not all the time that you could spend all day outside if you wanted to.

Seventh-ly (not a word, but....), LISTEN TO MUSIC.  I once heard about a place that is the quietest room in the world, and after four or so minutes, you slowly start becoming insane, and too long could kill you. So don't live in a quiet room. Play some music. (My personal favourite is on Spotify at the moment called "Unwind 10s". <= click the link to listen.) Have a PJ party, dance, sing, flip your hair, because no one is watching.

Next, READ A LOT OF BOOKS. This may be the most important one, because of the fact that I am starting a blog to talk about the books I have read (which is a lot, by the way.) If you have a chair, drag it into the backyard (or front-yard if it is fenced in) and read. I spent a whole weekend just reading outside in my hammock in the backyard, and also reading in a chair in my front yard - which brings me to the next point.

If you are, in fact, reading in your front lawn on a school day, remember to actually brush your hair, and not wear your Koala Oodie (and also preferably not wear the Bubble-O-Bill socks you have), just in case one of the cute boys that is generally on your bus walks by in order to get to his house. I say this with the highest emphasis, as this happened to me. Hopefully he doesn't remember this... AWKWARD!

And Finally, STAY IN CONTACT WITH YOUR FRIENDS. Whether it be via Zoom, SnapChat, Messages, or any other Social Media platform - talk to them! I even had a video call with my pen pal from another country. Talk to them, have fun with them, and enjoy the time online.
